Vernacular Geology 2, with Agáta Marzecová
Presented at the Baltic Material Assemblies exhibition (AA & RIBA, London, 2018). Curated by Jurga Daubaraitė and Jonas Žukauskas.
This installation rethinks geology as an archeological, political and aesthetic practice. It is an installation made of rocks, sediments and mineral-line objects. Inspired by Fredric Jameson’s “geopolitical aesthetics,” vernacular geology taps into forms of geological knowledge, as well as explores the sedimentation of knowledge itself.
